1. High School Mission Trip July 29 – August 7 Cortez, CO

2. About Cortez: Cortez is predominately Caucasian (75%) with 19% of the people below poverty line Has a rich archaeological industry, which has helped the community thrive Near the Ute Indian Reservation, which has 42% of the individuals living below the poverty line

3. Why YouthWorks? A multi-demoninational organization that works with 70+ communities throughout North America YouthWorks has a strong focus on building relationships Relationship with adult leaders Relationship with students from our church and other churches Programs are structured and organized

4. Cost Total cost of the trip is $600 YouthWorks discount of $50 per youth Global Missions has given us $75 per youth Endowment Board has given us $65 per youth Makes the total of the trip $410 before any payments or fund-raising

5. Trip Preparation We will have five required Youth meetings to prepare for the trip: March 13 th, 6:30pm Youth Room April 27 th, 7:30pm Youth Room May 18 th, 6:30pm Youth Room June 16 th, 6:30pm Cook-out July 20 th, 6:30pm Pre-trip party and paper work turn-in There will also be two identical parent informational meetings in the summer to go over details. Dates of those are TBD

6. Trip Preparation Payment Due Dates: Now: Deposit of $75, if not yet paid March: Start of Plant sale Fund-raiser March 13 th : Payment of $100 April: Twins game fund-raiser April 28 th : Easter Breakfast May 18 th : Half of the remaining balance due July 20 th : Final balance due

7. Fund-Raising Plant Sale – Starts March 1 st and is due March 27 th – Sell bedding plants and hanging baskets – Plant sale can bring in about $75-$150 – Depending on how much is sold and what type is sold – Plants are delivered beginning of May

8. Fund-Raising Twins Game – We have 100 tickets for the June 14 th game against the White Sox – Sign-up will begin mid-April and will be on the bulletin board at church – Tickets will be sold for $10 over face value – 100% of the money raised will be divided by the number of youth going on the trip

10. We will leave at 6am Friday morning (the 29 th ) and stay in Lincoln, NE We will be staying at UN-L and be hosted by the admissions department

11. Our Trip Leave Lincoln Saturday morning and stay at a hostel in Denver Saturday We will have dinner hosted by a local church in the Denver Area Saturday night Arrive in Cortez Colorado Sunday afternoon

13. Our Trip Friday morning we leave YouthWorks around 9:30 and travel to Denver, Colorado While in Denver, we will attend a Rockies baseball game

14. Our Trip Saturday we will travel to Omaha We will leave Omaha Sunday morning and arrive back to Woodlake around 2 or 3
