17 Developing Your Abilities 4 Functions: Dominant, Auxiliary, 3 rd and 4 th. Birth to 6: Born with a blueprint. Not evident. 6 to 12: Dominant function starts to show. Patterns of behavior become clearer. 12 to 25: Strengthen auxiliary function to balance dominant function. 3 rd and 4 th functions fall into line (still undeveloped). 25 to 50: Develop 3 rd function; mid-life crisis. Time to reassess to change priorities! Later 4 th function develops. 50+: Drawn to use 4 th function more successfully. It requires concentration. This is your weakest function! Example for ESFP: 1. Sensing, 2. Feeling, 3. Thinking, 4. Intuition
