Stroke. What is it??? A stroke is a rapid loss of brain functions due to disturbance in the blood supply in the brain. Its is cause due to lack of blood flow caused by a blockage or a leakage of blood.
Symptoms of Stroke Signs of stroke can be: Sudden numbness or weakness to face, arm or leg. Mostly on one side of the body Sudden confusion, trouble speaking/understanding Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes Sudden trouble walking/dizziness, loss of balance or coordination Sudden severe headaches with no known cause
The Brain in homeostasis A blood clot appears. Can be do to old age (stimulus) The blood clot explodes. Brains start to bleed The body reacts. The circulatory system and the muscle system stop working to try to reduce pain. Body becomes numb. Blood feels more “thick”. You become confused and dizzy. Medicine, therapy or surgery is required for the body to return back to homeostasis
Medicine/ Treatment Medicine called thrombolytics or fibrinolytics. This is use to reduce pain on the brain cells. Life support such as ventilators ( assist breathing), IV fluids (reduce brain swelling) adequate nutrition and blood pressure control
