4 Development of the questionnaire Step 1: Detailed definition of all dimensions Step 2: Development of a first item set Step 3: Test of Content validity Step 4: Test of Construct validity (= dimensional structure)

5 Content validation – expert rating Procedure: N = 30 experts received a randomized list of all items + definitions of dimensions Task: Classify the items to dimensions Treatment of results: Comparison of expert-classifications to ”norm- classification” Satisfying Content Validity: > 70% of all experts classify item as intended

6 Content validity – Think aloud protocols Procedure: N = 10 core and various contingent employees ”think aloud” while filling in preliminary questionnaire Treatment of results: All think aloud protocols are compared to a ”norm protocol” Points are given when employees refer to content of items as intended Satisfying content validity: employees refer to > 70% of all content points
