2 Colonel Douglas H. Gunter History Award - $1000 - Awarded to graduate entering university studies (preference given to students enrolled in a history degree program). Each student must submit an original work based on a predetermined topic using one of the following media: text, visual art, web design, audio or video program. Currie Undergraduate Scholarship- $15 000 (1st year) – Awarded to graduates beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB. Applicants are asked to submit an essay giving the Selection Committee an indication of their leadership capabilities to date, including school and extra-curricular activities. Application available online at: www.unb.ca/scholarships/ Early March.

3 Harrison McCain Scholarship - $13 500 over 4 years. Awarded to graduates with 80% + first term-grade 12 and planning to attend an Atlantic university. Financial need and leadership qualities considered. Information available on university website. Early March. Madelon Rolston-Moran Scholarship - $300 – Awarded to a female student pursuing studies in a business program. Application available at guidance. Early March. NBASAA- Awarded to a graduate, who has attended a NBASAA Provincial Leadership Conference, been actively involved in student activities and has a financial need. Application available at guidance office. Early March.

4 Barkers Point Lions Club Bursary- $500 (2)- Awarded to a graduate planning to continue post-secondary education immediately following graduation. You do not need to live in Barker’s Point. Application available at guidance office. Mid March. Bell Aliant Pioneers of NB Foundation Scholarship -$2000 – Awarded to graduating NB students who are handicapped or to students enrolled in a post-secondary education program which will lead to working with people with handicaps. Each applicant is assessed on academic ability, community and school participation, and the need for financial assistance. 5 Fred Ross Scholarship For Fine Arts - $4000 – For a student pursuing post-secondary studies in fine arts or fine craft studies. Candidates must submit up to (no more than) five paintings or drawings, a short essay as to why a career in fine arts is sought and a resume containing a SIN number. 7 CUPE Local 2745 Scholarship - $1000 - Awarded to graduating sons or daughters of Local 2745 members attending university or college. Based on marks, aptitude, promise and financial need. Canadian Hospitality Foundation - $1000-$2000 – Awarded to graduates entering in a university degree program or a two- year college diploma program in hospitality, food services or the accommodation industry. 8 Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada, Inc. Essay Contest Scholarship - $1000 - Awarded to graduates entering an institution of postsecondary education. A 500-word essay is to be submitted. Application on-line now. Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship – Varied amount – National, $4000 – Regional, $2500 – Provincial. Awarded to graduates who demonstrate leadership potential and are active in school and community activities. Minimum grade of 75% in courses that are required for entry into their anticipated course of college study. Be a Canadian citizen and in final year of high school. Groome Memorial Scholarship - $1500 - Awarded to graduates who have demonstrated a scouting history, involvement and achievement, leadership contribution to scouting and scholastic achievement. Rotary Youth Merit Awards - $1000, $500 (2) - Awarded to graduates with involvement in these five areas: scholastic achievements, community service, co-curricular activities, extra - curricular activities, and home involvement. A description of the above activities must be submitted. Please include a recent photo of yourself. Students applying for a nomination must submit an application to the guidance office. Late March.

10 Thelma Sewell Memorial Scholarship (in co-operation with the NB Home Economics Association) - $500.00 - Awarded to a graduate who has applied to a Bachelor’s degree program in Home Economics in any province and has achieved good results in a variety of high school subjects. Thomas Washburn Memorial Engineering Scholarship - up to $4000 for three years OR up to $12 000 – For a graduating student pursuing engineering at a Canadian University and who has made a significant contribution to the betterment of school and/or community while demonstrating a sound academic achievement. 11 Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick Scholarship - $1000 (2) – Awarded to graduates who are planning to further their education in a recognized program of study relevant to the hospitality and tourism industry.
