2  Oldest and biggest Faculty in the University having 181 programmes (B.A, M.A, P.G. Diploma, Diploma, Certificate Courses)  Last 3 ½ years we have carried out Academic reforms in the system  With recommendations of the UGC/NKC/NAAC to bring improvement in the Higher Education we have introduced Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)  It is socially relevant, economically productive, globally competitive, culturally sustaining and individually satisfying programmes  It is Learner Centric. Learning is important  This system is operating at the global level 2

3 In the Faculty of Arts CBSGS was implemented in a Phased manner From 2011-2012 for UG Programmes and From 2012-2013 for PG Programmes 120 – credits for UG 96 – credits for PG PG – 16 courses – 8 core 8 Electives 6 Credits per course 16 X 6 = 96 Credits  To orient the teachers a series of workshops (Approx 46) were held in Arts Faculty At various colleges in Rural and Urban areas of University – I as a Dean of the Faculty acted as resource person and addressed the issues involved in the system.  These workshops were well attended and well received by the teachers.  Syllabus of the subjects under this faculty were reformulated /revised and uploaded on the University Website. Break up of the syllabus into a Smaller Units 3

11  Research and recognition committee meetings were held after every 3months and there is a zero balance so far as RRC meeting is concern.  Research in the faculty is encouraged and strengthen at various level. 11
