11 Initial Findings in Sem. A 2008/9 The majority (68%) of the students are between 20-23 years old; All of them possess either digital media players (e.g., iPod) or PDAs; 63% of them use their portable devices from 30 minutes to a few hours each day; Most of them (60%) prefer to use the portable devices during travelling; Most of them (87%) usually use the portable devices for listening music; Most students (87%) express that they are interested in accessing course materials in the form of podcasts; Most of them would like to receive podcasts about the summaries of lectures (93%) or tutorials (66%); Most of the students (64%) think that they will be more interested in the course after receiving the course podcasts.
