4 Education that meets the needs of students and employers b Consult with business and the public sector to determine their requirements for professional and skilled workers over the next ten years b Meet representatives of our post- secondary institutions and develop a plan to provide the necessary facilities and instructors to educate these workers

5 First class service in health care b Develop a plan to reduce waiting times and increase service levels comparable to the best health care systems in the world b Train many more doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel b Provide grants to medical students who commit to work in Alberta’s high-need areas after graduation

6 A better share of energy resource wealth for all Albertans b Increase size of Heritage Trust Fund and pay annual dividend from earnings b Limit number of permits issued for oil sands development b Require bitumen to be upgraded in Alberta b Build upgrading plants near Ft. McMurray, Grand Prairie, Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary and Lethbridge

7 Reasonably priced utilities b Regulate electric power and gas industries to provide abundant availability of energy supplies at competitive prices b Instead of spending $14 billion for power lines from Wabumun to southern Alberta, use these funds to equip 700,000 houses with solar electric systems

8 Affordable housing b Cap annual rent increases to Alberta’s annual rate of inflation b Eliminate education tax for low-income property owners b Help organize and support cooperative housing projects b Encourage Federal Government to reinstate the MURB (Multi-Unit Residential Building) program

9 Alberta business owned by Albertans b Support establishment of cooperatives so that producers and consumers could gain control over the multi-million dollar process of bringing goods and services to the consumer b Direct the Alberta Treasury Branch to provide the capital Albertans need

10 A pristine environment b Ensure that our water resources are conserved for future generations b Restore control over environmental regulations b Limit extraction of coal-bed methane b Reject use of nuclear power in Alberta until environmental and safety concerns are addressed
