3 Seite 3VDEW/VWEW-Tagung 19.9.2007 SuperSmart grid  Super or smart – grid follows generation needs (time lag!)  HVDC power links – drivers & examples - increasing need for long distance transport (Offshore grid) - capacity limits & system stability (overlay grid ?) - mutual benefits from linking electric systems (NORD.Link)  European-African Super grid - economically, technical and politically feasibility ???  First things first -> better use of European RES potentials ! -> coherent long-term strategy for solar R&D ? -> faster approval procedures for new power lines !
