Metro Plant Issues Specification Book Update 2014/2015 – Pilot Programs 2015 – 2461 Special Provisions

Have your orders in by 3:00 PM the day before pouring. If you forget to call in please leave a detailed message so we can get the order in by 6:00 am the following morning or email. Make sure you have the correct mix design number (Especially the new ASTM mixes) before calling. If you know the pour has been canceled, change time or plant please notify us with the change. If you are paving less than 150 tons of bituminous please don’t call in. We will not take any orders less than 150 tons. If you send multiple orders in excel document, please let us know if there is more than just one order in the documents. We may miss the tabs on the bottom of the spread sheet. The slump maximum is now showing on the chart. You will no longer will be allowed to add 1 inch to the slump if water reducer is added like under the old specifications of 2014. Max slump is what has been identified on the new mix design chart. Slump Requirements

No longer will provisional technicians be allowed to sign the 1 st certificate of compliance ticket any more in 2015. They were never supposed to be allowed to do this in the past. Enforcing rule this next year. Under the new 2015 special provision/pilot projects, cylinders cast in the field will be used as acceptance testing. So they will have to be handled more carefully. Contractor to provide cure/storage on-site. Casting minimum of 3-28 day test cylinders per set. Pilot project has a 4 th cylinder for a 7 day test age. Other Topics
