1 EE 294 Master’s Project Spring 2006 D.A.S. Deaf Alert System By Robert Wangai Samer Ashkouri

2 Introduction Build & design a fire alarm alert system for a hearing-impaired person. Build & design a fire alarm alert system for a hearing-impaired person. This system will inform the user of a fire visually and physically. This system will inform the user of a fire visually and physically. As an added feature, a door bell system will be integrated with the fire alarm system to indicate to the user that someone is at the front door. 9 Pager like portable device This pager like portable device will act as a receiver and will gather data from the smoke detector & the door bell. This pager like portable device will act as a receiver and will gather data from the smoke detector & the door bell. This portable device alerts the user both physically (by vibration) & visually. This portable device alerts the user both physically (by vibration) & visually. Visually, a red LED light will turn on incase of a fire. In case of the door bell being pressed, a green LED light will turn on. Visually, a red LED light will turn on incase of a fire.
