Definition Is when a child, preteen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed, or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen, or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones
What is Cyber Bullying? It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyber stalking
Facts about Cyber Bullying 58% said that someone has said mean or hurtful things to them on line 53% reported having said something mean or hurtful to another person online 58% said that they have not told their parents or another adult about something mean or hurtful that happened to them on line
If you are being bullied… Tell an adult immediately! Email accounts should be changed Cell phone numbers can/should be changed – give new numbers only to trusted friends Use block feature on Facebook Instant messaging usually has a block feature
Let someone know! There are cyber bullying laws designed to protect you from being harassed
