2 Predicting Many of the questions will ask you to use FACTS to think about what may happen later on in a passage. FACTS are information that can be proven and are unarguable. Use FACTS and common sense to make valid predictions

3 Evaluate Evaluations are when you are asked to come to a conclusion (Opinion) about someone or something in a passage. OPINIONS: personal view, feeling, or attitude towards someone or something that can be argued and not factually proven.

4 Summarize Summarize: To give a quick overview of what you have read. Use the 5 “W”’s and “H” Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

5 Quick Tips Pre-read questions before reading selection. Mark where you see possible answers as you read; don’t flip back and forth from reading to questions!!! Ask yourself: What do I know, feel, or am confused about after reading? Be aware of questions using “best”, “accurate”, and “statement”
