Lars Goldschmidt, Director, Danish Industry. He is a prolific debater and has worked extensively with issues related to competence development, management, energy and environment and competitiveness. In his speech he will focus on the necessity of maintaining production activities in Denmark if the high value added research and innovation activities are to remain in Denmark. Lisbeth Bech, Organizational Development Director, Novozymes A/S. She is currently preparing Novozymes’ global research and development site strategy and will in her speech talk about the challenges and opportunities of creating a global R&D organization and how to turn global diversity into a competitive advantage. Anders Nyborg, Director of Innovation Management, Vestas Technology and Service Solutions, Vestas A/S. He is heading Vestas’ process of re-establishing an innovation management process rebuilding an innovation culture after Vestas had to reduce their R&D efforts and Global R&D Footprint as a consequence of the financial crisis.
Novozymes: o Since 2000 an independent company within the Novo Nordic group with high growth on all financial dimensions. o A green frontrunner specialized in enzyme development, production and sales worldwide. o A biotech business-to-business oriented corporation. o Turnover above 11 billion DKK, export share around 95% and employing around 6,000 employees of which 58% are located abroad. Vestas A/S: o Established in 1898, baptized ‘Vestas’ in 1945 and specializing in wind turbine development, manufacturing and sales since the oil-crises of the 1970s. o Near bankruptcy 1986, turnaround and achieving global market leadership during the next 25 years. o Global financial crisis forces Vestas to restructure designing a new operating business model and a new organization. o Turnover 53 billion DKK (2012), employing 21,000 (year average) with above 75% employed abroad, and having delivered wind turbines to 73 countries.
