1 Information for Victorian Coastal Committee’s of Management April 2009

2 About CCV CCV is an association that seeks to involve all public land managers that manage or lease caravan parks and camping reserves along the Victorian coast. Key objectives:  Share information, knowledge and expertise between members  Implement marketing programs and other initiatives to benefit members  Represent members as the 'Peak Body' and undertake advocacy on their behalf

3 Why we need a network  Caravan and Camping Parks on Coastal Crown Land Caucus Reference Group Report Park managers - lead agents - 23 of the 32 recommendations Recommendations also state:  Victorian Coastal Strategy Key policies and actions for Crown land caravan parks Improve amenity, reduce environmental impacts Ensure diverse accommodation options, accessible to all Discourage long term exclusive occupancy “park managers should be encouraged to seek cooperative marketing opportunities…and… be active in the industry and to participate in industry professional development opportunities and strategic planning initiatives.”

4 CCV’s Vision A sustainably used Victorian coast that is managed by effective public land managers who benefit from working together.

5 Current activities  Establishing personal contact with Committees, Councils & Parks Positive reactions  Development of Membership database To date: 80 Parks & Reserves, 37 CoM’s/Councils, 72 Individual contacts  Development of Member Newsletter (biannual)  Website Document Library  Developing corporate identity – logo, branding  Development of tourism information resources Glove box guide Web page  Engagement with DSE  Funding Sponsorship Grant applications

8 Recent progress  Victorian Coastal Strategy CCV has been invited to become a member of the Victorian Coastal Strategy Coordinating Committee  DSE Caravan Park Access Policy CCV has been invited to participate in DSE’s Caravan Park Access Policy - Project Control Board meeting
