2. Summary This book is all about Jamilah. She is a Lebanese and Muslim. Also known as a wog. She is embarrassed about her personality. Everyone at school hates the Lebanese, Muslim people because of Osama Bin Laden. So, she dyes her hair blonde and gets blue contacts. She pretends to be somebody who she is not, named Jamie. Her mother is dead and her father is a super over-protective kind of guy. Her curfew is before the sun sets. He won’t even let her go to her formal. Then, he gets re-married to her religious teacher from a different school. Her friends from the religious school are playing at her formal. Will she go up on stage and show them the truth? Miss the formal altogether? Or keep her life as a lie? Read the book to find out.

3. About the Author Randa Abdel- Fattah is in her twenties. She is also a lawyer. This is her second book and she received an award for it in Australia. “Does my head look big in this” was her first book and it was published in 2007. She grew up in Melbourne, Australia,but now lives in Sydney. She is interested in the community and human rights. She enjoys going to Egypt to get spoiled by her relatives. She loves reading, romantic comedies, her husbands sense of humor, getting a seat on the train and any movie starring Colin Firth. Randa and her husband have a daughter who is a baby.
