CHARACTERISTICS

 LIGHTWEIGHT  TRANSPORTED AND STORED IN CARRIER  FACEPIECE IS MADE OF SILICONE RUBBER WITH INTURNED SEALING SURFACE SO IT CAN FORM A SEAL ON YOUR FACE  SECOND SKIN FOR ADDITIONAL PROTECTION FROM LIQUID AGENTS (M40A1 ONLY)  QUICK DOFF HOOD FOR EASY DONNING OPERATION (M40A1 ONLY)  INCLUDES BOTH CLEAR AND NEUTRAL GRAY OUTSERTS  CANISTER QUICKLY AND EASILY REPLACED

CAPABILITIES

WHEN WORN WITH PROPER CANISTER INSTALLED, THE FACEPIECE PROTECTS FACE, EYES AND LUNGS FROM CONCENTRATIONS OF CHEMICAL-BIOLOGICAL (CB) AGENTS, TOXINS AND RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT PARTICLES. THE CANISTER MAY BE INSTALLED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FACEPIECE

FEATURES

FACE PIECE: Provides a seal Against CB agents HEADHARNESS: Consists of Head pad, forehead straps, temple Straps, cheek straps, and donning tab INLET VALVE DISK: allows filtered air to enter the face piece and prevents moist exhaled air from enter- ing canister

NOSECUP VALVE DISK: allows filtered air to enter Nose cup and prevent moist exhaled air from fogging Eye lenses in cold weather OUTLET VALVE DISK/COVER: releases exhaled air and pre- vents unfiltered air from enter- ing face piece AIRFLOW DEFLECTOR: Directs inhaled air over eye- Lenses to prevent fogging

FRONT/SIDE VOICEMITTER: Transmit your voice outside the face- piece CANNISTER: Filters out CB agent And other particles From contaminated air INTERNAL/EXTERNAL DRINK TUBE: Allows operator to drink while wearing the facepiece CARRIER: Provides for storage and carrying of mask.Shoulder strap, waist strap, short strap, adjust- able strap

The BDO provides protection against chemical agent vapors, liquid droplets, biological agents, toxins, and radioactive alpha and beta particles. When remove from its vapor barrier bag it lasts for a minimum of 30 days. The wear time may be extended by the Commander. The key to its effectiveness is its serviceability.
