This acreage is situated in close proximity to existing horizontal Lower Tuscaloosa production operated by Goodrich Petroleum and Encana. Goodrich recently announced a Lower Tuscaloosa completion located in Wilkinson County: HOUSTON, Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: GDP) today announced the completion of its Crosby 12H-1 (50% WI) well in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. The well is continuing to improve with a current production rate of 1,250 barrels of oil equivalent ("BOE") per day and a 24 hour average rate of 1,130 BOE per day comprised of 1,050 barrels of oil and 469 Mcf of gas, on a 15/64" choke with 2,700 psi. The well, which has approximately 6,700 feet of usable lateral and was fracked with 25 stages, is in the early stage of flowback, with approximately 1% of the frac fluid recovered to date. The Company is also participating in the Anderson 17H-2 well, which is currently drilling, with a 7% non-operated working interest. The Lower Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (LTMS) is an emerging oil resource play found along Mississippi’s southern border with Louisiana. Leasing and Exploration is being led by Encana and Goodrich Petroleum. Encana holds 290,000 net acres predominantly located in Wilkinson and Amite counties, Mississippi. Goodrich Petroleum holds 135,000 acres within the trend. A portion of Goodrich acreage includes a minority working interest in Encana’s operations. EnCana’s first TMS well came online with a 30 day IP of 770 BOEPD (90% Oil). EnCana’s last two wells have had 30 day IP’s over 1,000 BOEPD (90% Oil). Industry experts are estimating the latest round of wells will have EUR’s above 500 MBO. Slade Energy Group, LLC is offering a 25% interest in its leasehold position for $700 per acre.

7 The Tuscaloosa Marine Shale is believed to be most prospective in the northern portions of Louisiana’s Washington, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, East Feliciana, and West Feliciana parishes, and southern portions of Mississippi’s Wilkinson, Amite, Pike, and Walthall counties. This 750,000-acre area has been described as the “Fracture Fairway” and remains the current focus of exploration. The presence of calcite-healed natural fractures is particularly important in the development of tight oils due to the enhanced permeability in the formation. Current estimates suggest the play holds between 40 and 70 million barrels of oil in place per 640-acre section, which is similar to the Eagle Ford Shale. Louisiana State University's Basin Research Institute estimated that the Tuscaloosa covers 3.8 million acres. We assume that the current focus of activity, approximately 2.7 million acres, holds an average of nearly 50 mmboe in place per section and there exists an additional 40 mmboe per section in the remaining 1.1 million potential acres. This equates to an average of 46 mmboe per section across the trend, with more than 85% of the resource being oil. Current drilling is occurring on 640-acre spacing as operators focus on defining the play’s productive and commercial limits. However, operators testing the play expect an eventual eight wells will be drilled per section (80-acre spacing), as has been seen in existing shale gas plays and is being considered in more mature tight oil plays.
