8 THE FOOL: 1. is governed by feelings and desires Proverbs 13:16 Every prudent man acts out of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly. Proverbs 21:20 In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. 2. doesn’t listen to others Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 18:2 A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. 3. won’t take correction and doesn’t learn from mistakes Proverbs 17:10 A rebuke impresses a man of discernment more than a hundred lashes a fool.

9 THE FOOL: 4. is governed by emotions, impulses and instincts Proverbs 12:16 A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. Proverbs 14:16 A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless. 12 WISDOM: 1. God is the source, look to Him Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 2. Fear God Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 3. Ask James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

13 WISDOM: 4. Get to Know God’s Word Psalm 119:97-100 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. 5. Get to know Jesus Colossians2:3 Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

15 Ephesians 5:15-17 15 Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
