3 a manner to reflect -- Titus 3:1-11 3:1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. 3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived

4 a manner to reflect -- Titus 3:1-11 in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through

And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

16 Titus in Crete Titus led the Christian Church on Crete until his death in 105 A.D. at age 94. From Crete it is said he propagated the gospel into the neighboring islands.

17 Titus in Crete The church in Crete experienced many internal and external stresses, much of it due to the friction of the island. These tensions, however, did not impact the religious strength and stamina of the church on the island.

18 Titus in Crete In January 250, Trajan Decius issued the edict for the suppression of Christianity. He demanded that the bishops and officers of the church make sacrifices for the Emperor.

19 Titus in Crete Crete is famous for their “Ten surmountable martyrs” who were martyred under Decious. So famous and revered are these Cretians, that whenever the Byzantines wrote about the island of Crete, they were almost always mentioned.
