13 c Names Screen Victim Name is NOT transferred from JIS to SCOMIS. Protected names (shown in blue) are sent to SCOMIS from JIS.

14 c Names Screen Connection Codes and sequence numbers describe a person's role in the case. Sub-Connection Codes are used to record additional information about the person. Column title and usage vary by case type.

15 c Sub# in the docket is a way to keep track of corresponding items in the paper case file. Docket Screen Docket Codes are used to record documents and events. Sub-Docket entries are used to further define items. Some Docket Codes also change case management status. A number of Docket Codes ripple to JCS as dispositions in juvenile offender and dependency matters. Docket Codes are used to record documents and events. 16 c SCOMIS Docket and Protection Orders Docket Screen JIS sends messages to the SCOMIS docket when a protection-type order is recorded for a case in JIS.

17 c Proceeding Docket Codes Docket Screen Proceeding Docket Codes are counted in caseload statistics and many will also result in a change in case management status. The Statistical Reporting Manual and the Proceeding Docket Codes section of the SCOMIS Codes Manual are good references.

18 c Charge descriptions come from the SCOMIS law table that is maintained by AOC. Charge Screen PCN number is used to report the results of the case to WSP. Enter the PCN number as soon as possible in the life of the case.

19 c Result Codes are used to record the outcome of each primary charge. Charge Screen

20 c Sentence Screen Sentence information is transmitted to the WSP and a WASIS Disposition Transfer Report is generated. This screen also shows status of Felony Conviction Reporting to the Secretary of State (OSOS).

21 c Index Screen SCOMIS searches only one case type in one county.

22 c Index Screen The Index for a case type lists SCOMIS litigant names in active and archived cases.

23 c Index Screen For a criminal or juvenile offender case, the ORIGINAL charge displays on the Index.

24 c SCOMIS Judgment Cases RCW (5) A separate case type (S9) linked to an originating case Contains only a Names and Docket sections Originating Case litigants become the Judgment Case debtor (losing party) and creditor (prevailing party) Multiple originating case litigants may mean multiple judgment cases for one originating case Status is recorded when judgment is closed

26 c Data from the originating case is copied to the Names screen of the Judgment Case. Copied data includes the originating case title and the names and connection codes of the litigants.

27 c Add Docket - Judgment Case The Judgment Docket does not use sub-numbering and has an Amount field instead of a Secondary field.

34 c Ex Parte Actions May take place off the bench or on the bench but without oral argument or testimony. Are not counted in caseload statistics but may be counted using a query in Hyperion for docket codes: EXWACTEx Parte Action With Order EXOACTEx Parte Action Without Order

35 c Minute Entries Summary entries can be done on the Docket using a CHMIN or TRMIN docket code and up to 7 continuation lines. Detailed entries are sometimes done outside of SCOMIS using a local word processing program and downloaded calendar data. "Auto text" features and macros make the recording process more efficient.

36 c Tracking Pending Decisions Pending Decision Sub-Docket Codes are entered below a proceeding held entry. A Pending Decisions Report can be prepared. The pending decision entry should be deleted after the decision is rendered and recorded in the Docket.

37 c Resolution & Completion Resolution = a case is "tried, settled, or otherwise concluded" and a judicial decision is rendered.  Resolutions are grouped into pre-trial and post-trial categories. Completion = dispositional documents filed with the clerk. Resolution and completion may be recorded consecutively or concurrently.
