4 First 4 Areas –collecting and analyzing data to get a complete picture of the school’s history, where it is now, and setting goals for future progress Action Plans Make the Goals concrete and measurable Analyze the data Adjust the goals as needed SIP

5 Role Communication – continual communication about the process with all stakeholders Training of school staff in the process Consensus Building – continual communication between Area Committees, Steering Committee, and school staff to develop ownership of the entire process and final document Membership Chairperson or Co-Chairs Minimum of 4 other members (chairpersons of Committees for Areas 1-4) SIP – Steering Committee

7 Review Standards and Benchmarks Analyze data / Analyze results What does this look like? How do you do it? Conversations, discussions, consensus building Use the worksheets for the benchmarks and gather supporting evidence Dissect and compare results of student performance data (over time, by grade level, by gender, etc.) Compare survey results between staff and parents and students Key Parts of the Process

12 The Process Review the work and results of the committees of Areas 1 through 4 Using a collaborative process, determine the top three goals Write an Action Plan for each of the three goals to include the Goal Statement, Evidence of success, and Strategies to achieve the goal (including timeline, person responsible and resources) Area 5: Action Plan
