3. Break the ampoule contained in the B.I. with the ampoule crusher included in the product’s box or manually.

4. If you use the ampoule crusher, you must first press the cap down in order to seal the tube before using the device.

5. If you do it manually, hold the tube as close to the cap as possible, and compress it using the thumb and forefinger. Once the ampoule breaks, you can further press twice in different parts of the tube in order to reduce the size of the glass pieces and, consequently, release the culture medium.

6. Press the cap down to seal the tube and avoid evaporation during the incubation period.

7. Total volume of the collected culture medium will be similar to the one shown in the picture Esterilice de forma usual. Finally shake the tube downwards vigorously as if you were reducing the temperature of a mercury thermometer. This is in order to collect the liquid on the conical base of the tube.

8. Once you have followed these steps, you can proceed with B.I. incubation.

9. After incubation, record the results obtained in accordance with the protocols established by your institution.
