Total or partial reproduction forbidden Definition IVI system is the best solution for the performance of asymmetric features of most broadband services based on TCP/IP protocol, such as, access to Centralized Corporate Information System, Internet access, Virtual Private Network, Videoconference, Video Diffusion, Distance Learning, among others. Adapts and optimizes the simultaneous use of bi-directional means of transmission and diffusion, at teh best cost and with a minimum deployment time (terrestrial lines + satellite, terrestrial lines + microwaves, microwaves + satellite...) IVI system works in a seamless way with any type of service over TCP/IP, either unicast as well as multicast. It is also ideal as access system to broadband and as switching system for the organization of traffic flow inside transit nodes. IVI sytem manges asymmetric broadband communication lines. The channel utilized to send the information from the header to remote user (downstream) is a broadband channel, while the return channel (upstream), from the remote user to the header, is narrow band (PTOS, ISDN line, etc...) IVI system has been fully developed in Spain by InfoGLOBAL, a very well known company in the IT and Telecommunication fields, with experience in developing the management and integration of systems for telecommunication operators and companies from other sectors.

Total or partial reproduction forbidden Advantages (I) Reduced Costs: Due to its architecture, IVI System reduces drastically the communication costs especially for companies with multiple branches (the more branches the lesser Cost/Line ratio). With IVI System there is no need for “n” high capacity lines between the headquarters and the brances. Just a single broadband line between the HQ and the diffusion header will be needed. The branches will obtain a larger broadband with a simple PSTN or ISDN line. Flexible: Since it uses two physical networks as one logical network, IVI system is so flexible that is independent of the transmission means used to send the data (terrestrial lines + satellite, terrestrial lines + microwaves, microwaves + satellite, etc.)… Independent of the geographic at location: IVI system gives broadband services to its clients independently of their geographic at location, since the signal is received through satellite diffusion. Therefore overcomes the lack of terrestrial broadband infrastructurein certain locations. International Service : Thanks to the advanced communication satellite Hispast C1, IVI system is able to offer coverage to its customer in Europe and Latin America. The principal benficiaries of the system would be companies with branches worldwide that need an access and a centralized control of their information.

Total or partial reproduction forbidden Advantages (II) Deployment and infrastructure: The deployment of the system is immediate allowing the access to company corporate data and other services (Video conference, Distance Learning, Internet access) at high speed, with a minimum infrastructure requirement (telephone line - PSTN or ISDN line - and one conventional satellite dish). Reliable: IVI system is tolerant to broadband channel failures, in case of losing the broadband signal, the system switches automatically to the narrow band path without losing the connection, going back automatically to its normal status as soon as the signal is reestablished. Efficient: IVI system accomplishes a dynamic traffic switching to the most efficient media, allowing the complete use of full contracted bandwidth. So the bandwidth available is used in the most efficient way posisible.

Total or partial reproduction forbidden Components (I) Funtionality:  On-demand IP traffic switching based on rules (access path and broadband path) and policies (IP address, range or sub-net) per session.  Up 10.000 concurrent sessions supported, Multicast routing support.  IP tunneling support.  Hot configurable.  The IVI Switch manages the activities and properties of the IVI Gateways.  It is possible to open sessions from the IVI Gateways, from stand-alone clients and from the IVI Switch.  The IVI Switch collects and stores traffic statistics in a remote database for billing purposes. The Session and Monitoring System Manager uses the same real time statistics to monitor the sessions and services, as well as the alarm warnings. IVI Switch
