Reduced headcount in Field Engineering organisation since April 2011 –Originally +2,600 people and viewed as too big for one person to manage –NWOW efficiencies –Creation of Plan & Build organisation with transfer of c. 530 people RBL input to OD review identified the following issues with the current structure; –Duplication and waste between the North & South –Constant tactical demands on the RBL’s time –FLMs struggling to get the job done –Inconsistent use of CDM role across the organisation –Lack of career path within the Field management structure to develop and retain talent
