Limerick Poetry Purpose of limerick poetry is comedy Has specific rhyming pattern 1 st,2 nd, and 5 th lines rhyme 3 rd and 4 th lines rhyme AABBA pattern
Limerick Poetry Has specific syllable pattern for each line 1 st,2 nd, and 5 th lines have 8-9 syllables Each line must have the same amount of syllables 3 rd and 4 th lines have 5-6 syllables Each line must have the same amount of syllables
Limerick Poetry- Prewriting Stage Helps plan your writing Will focus on Topic: What are you writing about? Audience: Who are you writing to with your limerick poem? Purpose: Why are you writing your poem?
