God is a God of new beginnings!

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them…This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:15-17 (NLT)

We grow by making commitments.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7 (NIV)

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.. Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Four Commitments

1.Commit yourself to FORGET YOUR FAILURES.

I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead… Philippians 3:13 (NLT)

For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

2. Commit yourself to GIVE UP YOUR GRUDGES.

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13 (NLT)

Grudge: A deep ongoing resentment that we cultivate in our hearts against someone else.

Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13 (NLT)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT)

“Unforgiving servants always end up in prison. Prisons of anger, guilt and depression.” - Max Lucado

3. Commit yourself to RESTORE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18 (NLT)

So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. Matthew 5:23-24 (NLT)

4. Commit yourself to DEAL WITH YOUR SIN.

Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires…We are no longer slaves to sin.. Romans 6:6,12 (NLT)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

God is a God of new beginnings!

1. Commit to forget your failures. 2. Commit to give up your grudges. 3. Commit to restore your relationships 4. Commit to turn your back on your sin.

New Commitments for a New Year HAPPY NEW YEAR!
