5. Why Structure the Report Card this Way? 11. Wait….a NEW 3 is the OLD 4?? Yes!! A 3 used to mean BASIC NOW A 3 means PROFICIENT

12. There is no 5?? In the past a student who earned a 5 showed they were advanced-performing above grade level. There is NO 5! A score of a 4 on the new report card shows a student who is exceeding mastery and is able to apply the information. A 4 can be earned if the student has demonstrated that they are exceeding mastery of standard. This is like the APPLY piece. If a student is able to apply what they learned then they have the ability to receive a 4. Performance Based Real World Application

13. Why do I see an X on the report card. The x represents areas that haven’t been taught at this point in the school year. As the year progresses you will see a score.
