3 Customer Search / Inquiry The Customer Inquiry segment of QSEARCH is significantly improved (included only in I/O DMASPlus! ) One of two main elements in QSEARCH Also available within o Billing order entry o Customer User Friendly Maintenance 2

4 Customer Search / Inquiry Customer Inquiry... Now including a powerful, integrated searching facility o Same search facility as integrated into Customer User Friendly Maintenance o Provides the ability to search the contents of 43 customer master fields either individually or in combination with each other o Once the desired customer is found, with an option, either Enter directly into standard DMAS customer inquiry for the specific customer (including all standard DMAS customer inquiry screens) Or, browse various customer maintenance screens with the ability to page back and forth (browse only, no data changes are allowed) o Provides the ability to view the maintenance history log for the displayed customer 3

5 Customer Search / Inquiry Built on the new “work with” architecture Initial screen displays a list of existing customers (if any) Five alternate views provide the ability to review common customer data without leaving the list screen 4 Customer Inquiry...

8 Entering Customer QSEARCH When entering QSEARCH, the first “Begin Search” screen is essentially the same as standard DMAS QSEARCH Using the F4=Lookup function key when the cursor is placed into the Customer Inquiry entry capable field however, now displays the new Customer Selection screen 7

9 Entering Customer QSEARCH The initial QSEARCH screen Access the new customer search and inquiry function by placing the cursor anywhere within the Customer Inquiry entry capable field and pressing the F4=Lookup function key 8 Return to Customer QSEARCH Summary Or use the input capable ‘Search” fields to use the old method of searching for customers Or key the desired customer number / branch / company to go directly to the desired customer

10 Customer Selection The Customer Selection screen is displayed when using the F4=Lookup function key when the cursor is in the customer number entry capable field Provides the ability for a user to select the customer to be queried from a displayed list Built on the new “work with” architecture Options available include o View customer data utilizing the legacy DMAS Customer Inquiry screens o View customer data utilizing “Browse only” mode of customer user friendly maintenance screens o Go directly to Customer Ship-to Search / Inquiry for a specific customer o Work with customer notes for a specific customer Function keys available for o Viewing alternate views of selection screen o Turn “On” the feature to view additional customer browse pages o Display all searching selection fields available on two screens 9

11 Return to Customer QSEARCH Summary Customer Selection The new Customer Selection screen will be displayed – View 1 To go to the standard DMAS customer inquiry function and screens, use the 1=Select option on the desired customer line (see Standard DMAS Customer Inquiry) Standard DMAS Customer Inquiry To view one of the new customer browse screens, use one of the options 5 through 9, then page through the available pages (see Customer Inquiry Browse) Customer Inquiry Browse 10 View 2 Use F11=Alternate view to view additional transaction detail Function key F14=subset list if part of the new customer search function (see Searching for a Customer)Searching for a Customer For more information about using the selection line, please refer to Searching for a Customer Searching for a Customer

16 Searching for a Customer This section only applies to searching for customers from the Customer Selection screen (L3220) Provides many possibilities for searching for one or more customers o Search for the contents of a single customer master field o Search for specific data in multiple customer master fields at the same time To use the new customer search function, the user may o Utilize the “selection” line on the Customer Selection screen (L3220) o Use the function key F14=Subset list 15

19 Return to Searching The Selection Line Searching entries are keyed on the selection line The selection line appears on all 5 of the alternate view screens (selection entries may be made on any or all of the alternate view screens for a single search) 18 For Searching Examples - Continue To search across ALL DMAS companies, blank out the company number

36 Function Key F14=Subset List The F14=Subset list function key displays nearly all customer selection fields used for searching, on 2 screens It is recommended to use function key F14=Subset list function for complex searches that would normally require selection field entry over several customer selection screens For fields requiring specific codes, the same codes are required whether the selection line is used or F14 is used To search multiple fields using the Select Customer Records screen (D1220), key the desired search criteria into as many fields as necessary for combination searching When finished with selections, use F14=Subset list to make sure all previous selections have been blanked out 35

37 Function Key F14=Subset List Use the F14=Subset list function to search for data in multiple fields just as you would on the selection line, but without being required to page through up to 5 alternate views The resulting sub-file list screens will be the same 36

63 Maintenance Log Provides an interactive tool for viewing historical changes made to an existing customer master record Once either of the customer detail screens is displayed, press F22=Log The most recent history record will be displayed Use the Page Up key to view older log entries Use the Page Down key to view more recent entries At any time, press the Enter key to view the current record 62
