I Walk in Danger All the Way CW #431 Verses 1 - 4 Text: Hans A. Brorson, 1694-1764 Setting: DER LIEBEN SONNE LICHT UND PRACHT Tune: Geist-reiches Gesang-Buch, 4th ed., Halle, 1708

Verse 1: I walk in danger all the way; The thought shall never leave me That Satan, who has marked his prey, Is plotting to deceive me. This foe with hidden snares May seize me unawares If e'er I fail to watch and pray; I walk in danger all the way.

Verse 2: I pass through trials all the way, With sin and ills contending; In patience I must bear each day The cross of God's own sending. Oft in adversity I know not where to flee When storms of woe my soul dismay; I pass through trials all the way.

Verse 3: Grim death pursues me all the way; No-where I rest securely. He comes by night, he comes by day, And takes his prey most surely. A failing breath, and I In death's strong grasp may lie To face eternity today. Grim death pursues me all the way.

Verse 4: I walk with angels all the way; They shield me and befriend me. All Satan's pow'r is held at bay When heav'nly hosts attend me. They are my sure defense; All fear and sorrow, hence! Unharmed by foes, do what they may, I walk with angels all the way..

Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. All: And also with you. Opening Verses

Confession of Sin Pastor: God invites us to come into his presence and worship him with humble and penitent hearts. Therefore, let us acknowledge our sinfulness and ask him to forgive us.

Confession of Sin All: But I am truly sorry for my sins, and trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ I pray: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Amen.

Lord, Have Mercy Kyrie Pastor: For all that we need in life and for the wisdom to use all your gifts with gratitude and joy, hear our prayer, O Lord. All: Lord, have mercy.

Lord, Have Mercy Kyrie Pastor: For the steadfast assurance that nothing can separate us from your love and for the courage to stand firm against the assaults of Satan and every evil, hear our prayer, O Christ. All: Christ, have mercy.

Lord, Have Mercy Kyrie Pastor: For the well-being of your holy Church in all the world and for those who offer here their worship and praise, hear our prayer, O Lord. All: Lord, have mercy.

Lord, Have Mercy Kyrie Pastor: Merciful God, maker and preserver of life, uphold us by your power and keep us in your tender care: All: Amen.

Pastor: The works of the Lord are great and glorious; his name is worthy of praise.

O Lord, Our Lord All: O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is your name in all the earth. Almighty God, merciful Father, you crown our life with your love.

O Lord, Our Lord All: You take away our sin; you comfort our spirit; you make us pure and holy in your sight. You did not spare your only Son, but gave him up for us all.

O Lord, Our Lord All: O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is your name in all the earth. O Son of God, eternal Word of the Father, you came to live with us; you made your Father known;

O Lord, Our Lord All: you washed us from our sins in your own blood. You are the King of glory; you are the Lord! O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is your name in all the earth.

Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken CW #465 Verse 1-4 Text: Henry F. Lyte, 1793-1847 Setting: HYFRYDOL Tune: Rowland H. Prichard, 1811-87

Verse 1: Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow you. Destitute, despised, forsaken, You on earth once suffered, too.

Verse 1: Perish ev'ry fond ambition, All I've ever hoped or known; Yet how rich is my condition! God and heav'n are still my own.

Verse 2: Let the world despise and leave me; They have left my Savior, too. Human hearts and looks deceive me; You are not, like them, untrue.

Verse 2: And since you have smiled upon me, God of wisdom, love, and might, Foes may hate and friends may shun me- Show your face, and all is bright.

Verse 3: (Choir Sings) Go, then, earthly fame and treasure! Come, disaster, scorn, and pain! In your service pain is pleasure; With your favor loss is gain.

Verse 3: (Choir Sings) I have called you Abba, Father! You my all in all shall be. Storms may howl, and clouds may gather; All must work for good to me.

Verse 4: Haste, my soul, from grace to glory, Armed by faith and winged by prayer. All but heav'n is transitory; God's own hand shall guide you there.

Verse 4: Soon shall end this earthly story; Swift shall pass the pilgrim days, Hope soon change to heav'nly glory, Faith to sight and prayer to praise.

Did You Remember your Offering Today? 1.Offer Your Mind with a New Way of Thinking 2.Offer Your Body with a New Way of Serving

Nicene Creed All: We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

Nicene Creed All: We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father.

Nicene Creed All: Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and became fully human.

Nicene Creed All: For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures.

Nicene Creed All: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

Nicene Creed All: We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who in unity with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,

Nicene Creed All: who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

Nicene Creed All: We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

In thankfulness for our salvation, we support Gods work with our offerings.

Prayer of the Church Pastor: Gracious God and Father, we praise you for the countless blessings, which we receive from your hand; the beauties of creation and bounties of the earth, the joy of life and the pleasure of friendship, the good of work and the gift of rest, the privilege to share happiness and sorrow with one another. Above all we praise and thank you for your saving Word and for your Sons body and blood, which you give us to eat and to drink in the sacrament. Through these means of grace, you send the Holy Spirit into our hearts and unite us to Jesus and to the whole Christian Church on earth.

Prayer of the Church All: Strengthen us through this heavenly food; increase our trust in Christ and our love for one another.

Prayer of the Church Pastor: Great God and Lord, without your continuing help we easily waver in our faith, lose courage, and grow careless in our watchfulness. The times and days are perilous, give us strength to face the evils of each day with fresh confidence. Open our lips to speak of your grace, and move us to use the gifts that you give us to share your Word of salvation with all people. Protect and prosper the family, the school, the government, and all good institutions that you have established for the benefit of society. Remember in mercy those who are sick and suffering, and bring your healing to troubled homes and lives.

Prayer of the Church All: Move us to pray for those in need and to help them with deeds of kindness.

Prayer of the Church Pastor: (Special prayers and intercessions may follow.) Hear us, Lord, as we bring you our private petitions. (Silent Prayer)

Prayer of the Church Pastor: Now, eternal God and Father, keep us in the saving faith and so enable us to overcome all things through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lords Prayer All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.

Lords Prayer All: Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Lords Prayer All: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen

The Sacrament Pastor: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Pastor: Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them up to the Lord. Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God. All: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Pastor: Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In love he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

Pastor: He sends the Holy Spirit to testify that we are his children and to strengthen us when we are weak. Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ. To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and thanks and honor and glory for ever and ever. Seasonal Sentence

Holy, Holy, Holy (Sanctus) All: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of your glory. You are my God, and I will exalt you. I will give you thanks, for you have become my salvation. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of your glory.

Words of Institution Pastor: Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night he was betrayed, took bread; and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take and eat; this is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
