Homework Stretch and Challenge: Crest Award
What are the Crest Awards? CREST is a project-based awards scheme for the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths). It links the personal passions of students to curriculum-based learning. UCAS endorse CREST Awards for inclusion in students’ personal statements – they’re well regarded, high-quality and a tangible recognition of success.
What your are going to do! OutcomesSuccess Criteria Identify a question or problem that you want to solve It could be an interesting theory or question that you would like to investigate or a ‘Myth Busting’ activity Conduct research into the topic Use a range of sources and keep a record of all the sources that you use Plan and conduct an investigation to help you solve the question or problem This could be a safe* practical investigation or a survey/questionnaire. Make sure the findings are reliable though Report the findings of the research and investigation Include a clear outline of your findings and analysis of the data you have collected Evaluate the strength of your findings Consider whether the data is reliable or whether you would change any of the methodology that you used Produce a Learning LogGive a breakdown of the 10 hours of work that you have conducted
