Faith and The Riches of The World…

James 1:9-11. Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.

Because of the absence of money, many marriages end up divorcing in court. Because of the absence of money, many families collapse and the unity is not there any more. Because of the absence of money, the man of the house mistreats his wife, his kids, and everything is just a disturbance. Because of the absence of money, many men commit suicide when they feel that there is no other way to pay debts…

And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. And those who heard it said, Who then can be saved?

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, verse 9. V. 10 give us the answer. V. 10 addresses those who are rich, so those of low degree are those who are not rich. If anything is to be learned it is this: a financial statement is not an absolute guarantee of approval or disapproval by God.

Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die): Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, And say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me. And who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will rule over all my labor in which I toiled and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity

Life (shelter, safety, health). Does God know? Food and drink. Does God know? Clothing. Does God Know?

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you

Covetousness is not a problem that only visits the rich. Did you know that?

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God

And He said, What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.

Rom. 8:16-17… The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together Eph. 1:3… Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

Phil. 4:7… and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus Rom. 8:31… What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 2 Peter 1:3-4… as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Col. 1:5, 27… because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel… To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory 1 Peter 1:3-4… Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you

And He said to them, Take heed and beware of covetousness, for ones life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.
