Sound Pressure Sound pressure is what we hear A logarithmic formula is required to convert sound power to sound pressure In occupied space, Room Constant (RC) is utilized – the ability of a room to absorb sound based on room construction (materials in walls, ceiling, lights, furniture, floor) Outside with air cooled chillers – wall material and direction constant determine sound power to sound pressure conversion (two solid walls along two sides and open on the other) A-weighted sound power doesn’t provide enough detail
