2 Interfaces / Working Relationships RIAG is one of the working groups that reports to ISLG ISLG sets the remit for its working groups to: –Establish strategy –Establish deliverables –Identify interfaces –Identify communication mechanism –Provide update on progress to ISLG

5 How RIAG adds value Provides commitment to continuous improvement to occupational health & safety within the industry Review and influence the development of legislation and standards where applicable Active participation with the Network Rail Safety Improvement Team (SIT) Undertake Problem Definition Statements identified by ISLG and RIAG Involvement of the wider community to enable professional informed input into current initiatives (Network Rail, RSSB, ORR etc) Sharing of working practices and lessons learnt for the benefit of the industry Steering group established to ensure the strategy continues to be aligned and focused

6 Membership Criteria Membership of RIAG is open to any infrastructure contractor who satisfy at least three of the following criteria: –CDM Principal Contractor –Train Operator (ORR Safety Certificate) –Direct contracts with Network Rail (PC licence holder) –Rail Plant Operating Company licence holder

7 Membership commitment Attendance at 6 meetings per year Engagement in the whole meeting unless specifically agreed by the chair Able to devote additional time to represent RIAG on industry sub groups, conferences and meetings where appropriate Be prepared to speak on behalf of RIAG to the rail industry and promote the group Assist RIAG colleagues on health & safety related issues
