Witches Hectate Macbeth Lennox Setting In the witches hide out Overall Plans to kill Macduff Three apparitions come to Macbeth from the witches The first tells him he needs to beware Macduff The second says he cant be killed Third beware Birnam wood

3 Scene II Ross come to tell Lady Macduff her Husband is in England
Characters Murders Lady Macduff Son of Macduff Ross Messanger Setting Macduff castle Overall Mucdaff family killed Ross come to tell Lady Macduff her Husband is in England Lady is talking to her son Messenger comes in and says your in trouble. Murders come in and kill son

Macduff Malcolm Ross Setting England Overall Macduff and Malcolm plan to kill Macbeth Ross revels family death Talking about the fall of Scotland and Macbeth being a tyrant Ross comes in and tell Macduff his family has been slain Malcolm and Macduff plan to kill Macbeth

Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, beware Macduff! Beware the Thane of Fife! Dismiss me. He is saying that Macduff is now his enemy

Be bloody, bold, and resolute! Laugh to scorn The pow’r of man, for none of women born Shall harm Macbeth The second apparition is telling Macbeth that he will not be killed by anyone. He is safe.

The third apparition is saying that Birnam wood will come to The castle and that is when Macbeth will die

8 For the blood-boltered Banquo smiles upon me And points at them for his. What? Is this so?
Macbeth sees a line of kings and they are all Banquo’s sons. The prophecy is still the same.

9 Macbeth is planning to kill everyone at Macduff’s castle.
The castle of Macduff I will surprise, Seize upon Fife, give to th’ edge ‘o th’ sword Macbeth is planning to kill everyone at Macduff’s castle.

10 If he were dead, you’ld weep for him
If he were dead, you’ld weep for him. If you would not, it were a good sign that I should quickly have a new father. Macduff’s son is telling his mother that his dad can’t be dead and if he were he would have a new one soon.

Malcolm and Macduff are saying that Macbeth is a tyrant and that if he keeps it up there will soon be a new king.

12 Expire from the flowers in their caps, Dying or ere they sicken.
Ross is stating that Scotland is getting worse because there is someone who has been good who has now turned bad.

How does my wife? Why, well. And all my children? Well too. The tyrant has not battered at their peace? Ross is lying to Macduff that his family is fine but they have been murdered.

14 Macduff is furious and is going to kill Macbeth. Let the fight begin
Bring thou this fiend of Scotland and myself. Within my sword’s length set him. Macduff is furious and is going to kill Macbeth. Let the fight begin
