4 East East: Partnership Beyond Borders Open call for proposals, no agenda setting Around 1,000 proposals (concept notes or projects) each year 250-300 initiatives supported yearly In the last 10 years, no more than 20 supported projects that look at Black Sea as a region and identify regional issues

5 Regional issues (Black Sea) Resource exploitation and transit Peace building and conflict resolution Radical movements Security threats Hydrocarbon Conflicts

6 Questions Is there a real space of BSR co-operation for NGOs, independent of donors’ agenda? What are the common issues to look at? … except conflicts and hydrocarbon! Will the new pipelines change anything?
