3. Jigsaw  Phase I.A.: groups discuss how to teach what their section of reading says to others; synthesize, summarize, pick important points; prepare five-to-ten-minute lesson. Each member of the group will teach the lesson.  Phase I.B.: Groups will write a six-question quiz to assess understanding of their lesson. The questions should elicit important points. I will collect copies of each group’s questions (and answers). Each member of the group will need the questions to administer (informally) to their next group. The questions will be fair game for the quiz next class.  Phase II: groups reshuffled to contain one each from first groups (i.e. 1, 2, 3, and 4). Each will teach his or her lesson. Then each will administer his or her quiz (informally, verbally).
