8 Next Assignment Read Western Civilizations, pp. 429-438 (stop at “Methods for a New Philosophy”). Describe five things that surprised or interested you and why they surprised or interested you. Read Locke, pp. 350-374 (Second Treatise, Chs. 9-13). Make double-column notes. On the left side, put summaries of things you learned or the main ideas or points from the reading. On the right, in response to the entries on the left, put comments, reactions, or questions from you. Get at least five items on each side.
