How much time did I spend in studying Al-Qur’an and Hadith? Do I have fixed slots or disposable ones? Is it my first priority or last? Prepare individual plan; and more importantly, form study teams to get 4 extra rewards! O Allah! Increase me in Knowledge. Let everyone realize the importance of true knowledge and spend time to learn it. Remember the case of a student who cries to Allah to help him succeed in exams but does not go to school nor studies any book. Is he serious in his prayers?

The Prophet pbuh used to recite this prayer very often. Any thing (wealth, asset, job, business, children, friends, etc.) is not Hasanah, if it damages the hereafter. It includes: (i) honor; respect, (i) Basic necessities of survival: Health; welfare of family; halal provisions; honor; respect, etc. (ii) sincerity in actions; etc. (ii) Things that are beneficial for the hereafter such as useful knowledge; correct belief; Good actions; sincerity in actions; good morals; guidance; etc.

Do I check if the thing I am running after is right? And after praying this, am I content if I don’t get that ‘right’ thing (even after trying hard)? Always remember to recite this supplication; … O our Rabb! Give us hasanah in this world and … Convey the message to family and friends that we should first make sure it is ‘hasanah.’ Remember the case of a student who cries to Allah to help him succeed in exams but does not go to school nor studies any book. Is he serious in his prayers?

8 www.understandquran.com... Hasanah (good) in the hereafter includes:  Pleasure of Allah;  Paradise;  Company of the Prophets;  The opportunity to see Allah;  etc.

9 www.understandquran.com... For (i) Are my actions geared towards getting rewards? (ii) Are my actions avoiding the Fire? If yes, alhamdulillah; if not, astaghfirullah; and Plan towards the goals. O Allah! Give us … hasanah in the hereafter; safety from the fire. The purpose of life is to succeed in the hereafter and be released from the Fire. Remember the case of a student who cries to Allah to help him succeed in exams but does not go to school nor studies any book. Is he serious in his prayers?

10 www.understandquran.com قواعد – Grammar Take a deep breath now and do all the exercises with TPI.

11 www.understandquran.com WE HAVE LEARNT the following 4 Styles of فَعَلَ d. سَمِعَ، يَسْمَعُ b. نَصَر، يَنْصُرُ c. ضَرَبَ، يَضْرِبُ... a.

12 www.understandquran.com Most of the Arabic Verbs are made of 3 root letters, such as: ف ت ح ن ص ر ض ر ب س م ع سَمِعَ، يَسْمَعُ،... Let us Take Special Cases!

13 www.understandquran.com If one of these 3 letters is: و as in وَعَدَ، وَلَدَ or ی as in رضي، هَدَى or ا as in قال، كان then …

14 www.understandquran.com و ي ا Weak Letters Weak or ‘sick’ letters ( حروف علت ). Why ‘sick’ ( عِلَة )? Because the sounds of these 3 letters are that of a sick person!! (ooo!, aaa!, eee!). They are weak because they get ‘tired’. Beauty is that they work in a team! They keep replacing each other!!!

18 18 www.understandquran.com Learning & Motivational Tip

19 www.understandquran.com Go to higher grades in Jannah The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.''' [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

20 www.understandquran.com Compare our struggles for this worldly ‘house’ with… Many of us work for years to save the money to build a house in this world! In general, when the house gets ready, people cross their middle age (and some even die before they ‘enter’ it.)

21 www.understandquran.com Compare our struggles for this worldly ‘house’ with… And we know that we will not live in such a house forever! Not even perhaps next 25 years. The more we live here, the more problematic the old age becomes, in general! WE ARE BUSY for making this house and to look for enjoyments in it.

22 www.understandquran.com The Eternal Promotion! For Sahibul-Qur’an (Devoted to Qur’an) i.e., he recites, understands, implements, memorizes, propagates, etc. as much as possible. Who does not want to get eternally promoted. And live in the best state of health and facilities. Should we not GET BUSY for eternal promotion and the real enjoyment? All it takes is the change in our attitude towards Al-Qur’an.

23 www.understandquran.com Plan for it now…! Masha-Allah, you already took 1 step (equal to almost 10 hours) by starting this Short Course. Only 19 steps (190 hours) remain! Let us pray that we never stop! Without understanding: ‘Deaf and Blind’ 1 2 3 4 5 … 20 Pondering & receiving admonition

24 www.understandquran.com What have we learnt? Study the material thoroughly, and then fill up the work sheet in the.pdf file sent with the email.
