6 Volunteer Work Abroad Work with Habitat A non-profit charitable housing service organization An international institution dedicated to eliminating poverty and homelessness through the participation of hands-on volunteers and the benevolence of business corporations Habitat has built, renovated and repaired almost 300,000 homes in dozens of countries and territories including many in the Asia-Pacific region.

7 Duties and requirement To build homes at Habitat Thailand site for the poor as well as disadvantaged people together with the local villagers. Requirements  Full time BBA students  Minimum GPA 2.3  Proficient in English  Heart for volunteering

8 Habitat - Schedule and Sponsor ship 26 June – 16 July 2011 (3 weeks in Udon Thani, Thailand) Sponsorship  Up to HK$13,000 Programme Period Total: 4 weeks 1 week of volunteer work at Habitat HK Office or CB Office after trip

9 Students feedbacks and experiences: Building earthquake-proof houses with volunteer-friendly tools, erecting light materials, all were done collaborate with the local, thus created vast amount of cross- cultural contact. I met people from all over the world and learnt to collaborate with individuals with different cultural background. I experienced team-work and conflict handling.

15 We took care of babies, played with young children and helped some people who are physical or mentally disabled. Students feedbacks and experiences: I learnt the more simple you live, the more happiness you have. From the other volunteers of Helping Hands. I learnt that to appreciate what we encounter and treasure what we have in our life.

16 This year 2012 Habitat for Humanity, Mongolia 3 weeks (18 June - 7 July 2012, including one week special event "Blue Sky Build") To partner with local villagers and other volunteers to build houses in the project villages; the one-week BSB is a featured open build that involves volunteers around the world. Sponsorship: Up to HKD14,000.-
