Most web directory entries are also not found by web crawlers but by humans. The categorization is usually based on the whole web site rather than one page or a set of keywords sites are often limited to inclusion in only a few categories. Web directories often allow site owners to directly submit their site for inclusion, and have editors review submissions for fitness. Despite many directories charging a fee to be included it is not so commercially loaded as search engine inclusion or subject to the manipulation we have seen a before with Google Bombing. 3. The Directories tend to be “owned” and run by humans who have a professional knowledge management pride in their product which gives it more validity. 4. The downside is that the subject you are after may be buried deep in a website and therefore if the title of the site and the info you are after doesn’t match it wont actually find it.
