6 Morris Area Elementary School curriculum is based on local, state, and nationally approved standards. The standards assure all students receive a rigorous program which is developmentally appropriate and sequential in nature. Curriculum is reviewed on an annual basis with more information found on the district website. Everyday Math – Enables children in elementary grades to learn more mathematical content and become life-long mathematical thinkers. Math skills are taught and reinforced using manipulatives and hands on activities. Treasures – provides all students with materials that are motivating and challenging and that build, encourage and support success; provide opportunities for measurement of progress; provide opportunities for multiple learning experiences; prepare students to be life-long learners and good citizens in a diverse and changing world. 7 English Language Learners (ELL) Students work 30 minutes a day in small groups or one-on-one settings. Special Education Collaboration within the department and district to meet the diverse and unique needs of all the students that are served. Meeting Every Child’s Needs

8 RTI – Provides a targeted intervention to support each child and monitor progress. NWEA / AIMS Web – Assessments used to identify student needs and guide instruction. Title – Supplemental instruction given to students who are at-risk for not reaching grade level standards in reading and math. E.A.G.E.R. – Providing opportunities to meet the needs of gifted and talented students. M.A.E.S. strives to meet EVERY child’s needs!
