Most free-living, some parasitic Amoebozoans: Lobe or tube shaped pseudopodia Move by the means of internal cytoplasmic flow Common in soils and aquatic habitats Do not form microtubule-supported structures except during mitosis Opisthokonts: A single posterior flagellum Highly variable

+ Common Species of Unikonta Amoebozoans- Amoeba, Slime Mold, Gymnamoeba, Entamoeba Opisthokonts- nucleariids, choanoflagellates, animals, fungai Plasmodial “sporangia” (slime mold) forms a plasmodium mass Act as decomposers, engulfing food by phagocytosis Entamoeba histolytica causes amebic dysentery in humans Infection of the intestines
