January 2005 doc.: IEEE 802.15-05-0013-00-004a Submission Vern Brethour, Adrian Jennings (Time Domain) Slide 2 Approach to “T” & “TR” clusters Vern and Jay

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 3 Cluster #1: CCA and ALOHA issues We will refer these to Pat Kinney for a first sort (because they are often principally related to ALOHA) Pat will further punt the comments directly complaining about the NICT CCA technique to Yihong-Qi

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 4 Cluster #2: Exceeding the scope of the PAR Refer to Pat Kinney for an enhanced discussion (in clause 5 ?).

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 5 Cluster #3: Missing Stuff: Refer to Jay Bain. Jay Bain will look at the actual table or text being referenced and further re-assign it to someone.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 6 Cluster #4: Bandplan Refer to Ismail. Ismail will discuss and present the underlying philosophy of the new band plan in clause 5.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 7 Cluster #5: Framework Matt Welborn will make yesterday’s power point into a clause 5 discussion. Vern will take yesterday’s guidance on use of optional waveforms and turn it into a clause 5 discussion saying definitively that we are NOT loosing our interoperability.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 8 Cluster #6: General Phy These are issues that apply equally to CSS and UWB: We will refer these to Phil Orlik for a first sort. After Phil’s first sort, Jay and Phil will go through it again together. Finally, Phil will re-assign these as appropriate.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 9 Cluster #7: UWB We will refer these to Ismail.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 10 Cluster #8: CSS We will refer these to Rainer and Dr. Lee.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 11 Cluster #9: Sub-GHz We refer these to Patrick Houghton.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 12 Cluster #10: MAC We refer these to Jay Bain for a first sort.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 13 Cluster #11: Ranging. We refer these to Vern & Zafer.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 14 Cluster #12: Tool Problems We will refer these to Jay for an untangle. These are generally duplicate comments.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 15 Cluster #13: Using 802.15.4b vs. 802.15.4-2003 as the base text. Pat Kinney will write an explanation about WHY we are using 15.4b as the baseline.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 16 “Cluster 14”: The Super Cluster. Any comments not captured by the above 13 clusters Jay Bain will do a sort and assignment.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 17 Breaking up the shotgun comments. To make sure we catch everything, the technical editors will break up comments containing multiple issues into their separate components and track the response to each of the individual components.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 18 Handling the “proposed rejection” response. This will not be done cavalierly. We will treat these very specially and at the very least will present the proposed rejects to the group for approval at the Denver meetings. We might also use the reflector for discussions or telephone conference calls before Denver if we are unsure about the will of the group.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 19 Handling the comments where we cannot guess what’s on the voter’s mind. Case-by-case, but in general we will e-mail the voter and ask for a clarification of the comment.

doc.: IEEE 802.15-06-0069-00-004a Submission January 2006 Vern Brethour (Time Domain) Slide 20 Handling all the “E” comments. These are rarely controversial. The non controversial ones will be picked up and incorporated as a matter of normal course. Some of the “E”s are really “T”s and Jay will fix them as part of his “tool problem” work.
