3. D ays of A braham They were settled & contented. All their kids were involved in the truth, parents, whole ecclesia, lectures…preaching & conversions. All their friends in the truth, busy with God.

4. D ays of L ot They were hurried, rushed, stressed out depressed people. Kids had left the truth because the parents had. Ecc hardly ever met, All friends were outside, No preaching. Busy with other things, eg… occupation, overtime, education + they ate & drank & wined & dined, played sport, R & R & holidays just to keep up.

5. C.S. Lewis we try when we wake, to lay the new day at Gods feet; before we have finished shaving, it becomes our day, Gods share in it is felt as a tribute which we must pay from our own pocket, a deduction from the time which ought, we feel to be our own.

6. Lots Family Only 2 daughters mentioned …(no sons). Sons-in-law to be, ie betrothed. - only spoke to them & not to daughters - daughters referred to as firstborn & younger (19:31,34). Reinforces (Lke 17)…Lot mercifully saved form intermarriage, unlike days of Noah (Gen 6:4). Family & descendants saved (Jer 48:47; 49:6)

7. THE RIGHTEOUS LOT Sitting in the gate (Isa 25) Humble (v1) …not bow to Melchizedec (ch 14). Love to others seen in his concern (v2). Hospitable (v 2-3). Fellowship meal ?? (v3). Brotherly love seen in bravery (v6). Rebukes sinners (v7-8). Faith (v7)…stands for the truth. Suffered for the truth (v9). Attempts to teach truth (v14). Lot did not look back (v26).
