The New York Times is a newspaper of daily circulation, internationally known, published in New York City and distributed in the United States and many other countries.
The newspaper was founded on September 18, 1851 by Henry Jarvis Raymond and George Jones.
It won its first Pulitzer Prize for stories and articles about the First World War in In 1919, it made his first transatlantic delivery to London.
It also began to be published on the Internet in 1996, and since then its website has become a reference for online content, and not mere reproduction of printed texts.
A new headquarters for the newspaper, a skyscraper designed by Renzo Piano, was built in 2007 on the island of Manhattan, in New York.
It is accessed monthly by about 20 million users, making it the fifth most visited news site the Internet and by far the most popular newspaper site in the United States.
