The Muslim calendar begins when the Prophet immigrated with Abu Bakr As- Siddiq from Mecca to Medina.

Mother and Father of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam ‘Aminah Bintu Wahb was the name of the Prophet's mother. Many good and astonishing things happened to ‘Aminah during her pregnancy with the Prophet. She never felt the weight of the fetus, which resulted in an easy carriage. She dreamt of a star falling in her lap, and when she sought interpretation, She was told that she will give birth to a master and to the leader of the people.

Mother and Father of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam If she ever sought water from a well, the water itself would rise to her. She said: "While I was half asleep, someone came to me and asked me if I felt pregnant. I answered that I did not. Then he told me that I am pregnant with the master and the Prophet of this nation.“ Also when the Prophet's mother gave birth to him a light came out with him, illuminating what is between the East and the West.

Mother and Father of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam The Prophet Sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam landed on the ground resting on his hands, with his eyes open and looking towards the sky. ^Abdullah Ibn ^Abdul-Mutalib, the Prophet's father, did not live to see his son Muhammad. He died while ‘Aminah was still pregnant. Abdullah, His father didn't see his son, the best and the last Prophet.

Name and Lineage of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam He is: Muhammad, the son of ^Abdullah, the son of ^Abdul-Mutalib, the son of Hashim, the son of ^Abdu Manaf, the son of Qusaiyy, the son of Kilab, the son of Murrah, the son of Ka^b, the son of Lu’aiyy, the son of Ghalib, the son of Fihr, the son of Malik, the son of an-Nadr, the son of Kinanah, the son of Khuzaymah, the son of Mudrikah, the son of Ilyas, the son of Mudar, the son of Nizar, the son of Ma^add, the son of ^Adnan And after that his lineage goes back to Prophet Isma^il the son of Prophet Ibrahim peace be upon them.

On the day of His Birth Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam On the day Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam was born, the huge fire of the fire worshippers which had been lit for 1000 years to that day died out. The water of the Lake of Sawah dried out. Also, the palace of the arrogant dictator Kisra trembled, and 14 of its balconies fell to the ground. The devils were locked, and lights shined as the best man on earth came as a mercy to mankind.

The Prophet’s breast-feeder Halimah May Allah have mercy on her The story of how Halimah as-Sa^diyyah became the breast-feeding mother to Prophet Muhammad is astonishing. Lady Halimah herself said: “It was the year of draught, our camel hardly produced any milk, and my child kept us awake crying out of hunger. She said she hardly had any milk to breastfeed her child. She decided to breastfeed the Orphan, baby Muhammad peace be upon him.

The Prophet’s breast-feeder Halimah May Allah have mercy on her When Halimah took him, she said “I swear by Allah, the moment I put him on my lap, my breast became full with milk”. The blessings came into their house. Their camel was full of milk. They were fully satisfied. Halimahs’ husband looked at her and said: “I swear by Allah, you have picked a blessed soul.”

Prophet Muhammad Growing Up Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Halimah raised the Prophet until he was 2 years and 2 months old She then returned him to his mother, ‘Aminah ^alayha-ssalam. The Prophet’s growth was unlike any other person’s. He used to grow in one day as much as a regular child would grow in a whole month. He would grow in one month as much as a regular child would grow in a whole year.

Prophet Muhammad Growing Up Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam One day while the Prophet was playing with his brothers (sons of Halimah) an extraordinary thing happened. Halimah and her husband ran out to the Prophet. They found him standing with a pale face. They asked him: "What's with you son?!!" The Prophet replied that two men wearing white clothes came to him, laid him down and opened his abdomen, but he did not know what they did.

Prophet Muhammad Growing Up Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam The fact is that those two men were the angels Jibril and Mika’il who came in the shape of men. They opened his abdomen and washed it with Zamzam water, hail water, and snow water. Then they stitched it by the Will of Allah and stamped him on his back between his shoulders with an oval mark, which was the seal of Prophethood.

Trees Greeted Him with Salam Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Even as a growing child, Prophet Muhammad displayed particular habits. Every tree and stone he would pass by would say: "Peace be upon you O Messenger of Allah." After Halimah returned the Prophet to his mother ‘Aminah, he stayed with his mother till the age of five. When his mother died, his grandfather took care of him tremendously.

Khadijah Bintu Khuwaylid His first Wife Peace be upon her Prophet Muhammad stayed with his uncle Abu Talib and went out with him to trade caravans. At age 25, He was offered to marry lady Khadijah. She was the owner of some caravans and at that time the Prophet used to work for her. Lady Khadijah Bintu Khuwaylid was a very respected, honorable and patient woman. She was the richest amongst her people. Later Prophet Muhammad married her.

Some of the Miracles of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam The water truly coming out from between Prophet Muhammad’s fingers Returning Qatadah's eye safely in a battle by Prophet Muhammad’s hand The testification of the tree and its speaking up that He’s a truthful prophet The splitting of the moon is also among many other miracles that proved that he is a truthful prophet

Physical Description of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam The Prophet was not extremely tall, nor was he short. He had a white complexion and black hair. His hair was not straight rather it was curly and long down to his shoulders. His aroma was nicer than pure musk itself. He had a clear forehead, long eyelashes, broad shoulders and a firm stomach. The Prophet was fast in his walk, and it was narrated that seeing his face one would think that the sun is rising from it.

Prophet Muhammad Died at age 63 Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam immigrated to al-Madinah in compliance with the orders of Allah He lived there for ten years before he died at the age of sixty three. He was buried there in the house of his wife ^A’ishah may Allah reward her deeds. Millions of Muslims establish the trips to visit the Prophet in his grave. It is rewarding to visit him at his grave. And it is rewarding to ask Allah by the virtue of the Prophet to fulfill the needs.

Millions Celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s Birth Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Over 900 years ago a Muslim ruler called al- Mudhaffar, King of Irbil, was the first man to initiate the practice of celebrating al-Mawlid. King Al-Mudhaffar made a grand celebration that was attended by many scholars. And he was praised by famous Muslim scholars for doing this great deed. The famous scholar of hadith, Abul-Khattab Ibn Dihyah, wrote a book for this king especially to be read during the mawlid celebration. Imam As-Suyootiy authored a book about al- Mawlid and named it: “Husnul Maqsid fi ^amalil- Mawlid”. Which shows the great honor of celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Millions Celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s Birth Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Till now hundreds of millions of Muslims all over Asia, Africa, Europe, India, Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, Yemen, Turkey, Pakistan, Middle east and the Americas. Only those who have darkness in their hearts and do not love the Prophet deny permissibility of celebrating Mawlid and say that such celebrations are unlawful or haram. Al-Mawlid is a good and rewarding innovation derived from the Qur’an and teachings of the Prophet.

Mawlid is a good and rewarding innovation Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Prophet Muhammad said what means: “The one who innovates a good innovation in Islam has its reward and a reward similar to those who follow him in without lessening their reward. The one who innovates an innovation of misguidance would be sinful for it and has sins similar to those who follow him in it--until the Day of Judgment” From such hadith, the scholars of Islam like an- Nawaiy and al-hafidh Ibn Hajar and others said that innovation (Bid^ah) is of two types one that does not comply with Qur’an and Sunnah and that is rejected, and one that complies with Qur’an and Sunnah which is accepted in Islam such as al- Mawlid celebration.

Mawlid is a good and rewarding innovation Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam Among the good innovations was the doing of the followers of Prophet Issa (Jesus) peace be upon him as they initiated a good deed as Allah said in al-Qur’an {ابْتَدَعُوهَا وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً} {wa rahbaniyatan- ibtada^ooha} which means they innovated an act of detaching the hearts from worldly interests and spending the time for worship. This proves that bid^ah is of two types good and bad. The companion Khubayb innovated a good innovation (bid^ah) by making a practice of praying tow rak^ahs before being killed. al-Bukhariy Making Salat and salam on the Prophet after the Adhan is another good innovation practiced by Muslims over 700 years ago.

Mawlid is a good and rewarding innovation Sallallahu ^Alayhi Wa Sallam   Also Yahya bin Ya^mur innovated a good innovation by placing dots and characters above and below the Arabic letters in the Qur’an. A dot below the Ba’ letter, Dot above Noon letter and so on. That was not done by the prophet nor companions. That innovation was a very beneficial and useful bid^ah accepted in Islam. Khalifah Uthman innovated the practice of a second Adhan on Fridays. As narrated by Bukhariy. And Celebrating the Birth of the Prophet is one of those good innovations of guidance that comply with the Qur’an Sunnah. It’s a way of presenting our thankfulness to Allah, for sending prophet Muhammad as a mercy to humanity.

In Summary: Prophet Muhammad is the best man ever Celebrating His birth is a good way of thanking Allah All prophets beginning with Adam and ending with Muhammad came with Islam. They all submitted to Allah and believed that He is One with no partners, He is the most powerful, He does not need any of his creations and does not resemble any of his creations. And that Allah exists eternally without a beginning, with a place or a direction. Prophet Muhammad who was from tribe Quraysh, was born in Mecca and had immigrated with Master Abu Baker to al-Madinah, and died and is buried in Al- Madinah.
