What do the amazing red pandas look like and do? The red panda is chestnut colored with alternating light and dark rings on the tail. The red panda is 20-26 inches for the head and body and 12-20 inches for the tail. Red pandas eat bamboo, fruit, acorns, roots, eggs, blossoms, leaves and berries. Red pandas are shy,solitary when they are not mating,and nocturnal. Here are some interesting facts: The Chinese name for red pandas is Hun-ho meaning “fire fox” The red pandas are also called fire foxes. No one knows for sure how many are left, but there are less than 1,600 left in the wild.
Where I come from I live in the bamboo forests on the mountains of Nepal and northern Myanmar (Burma) and central China.
