DoR reprioritisation, approved funds to support Indigenous seafood related businesses. Improved coordination and resources to support Yolngu. Not directly related to Blue Mud Bay negotiations but seen as complementary.

Restricted due to lack of fishing industry and business skills as well as cost to enter and maintain a business. East Arnhem (3 x Wards only) was selected due to strong cultural linkages. Five Growth Towns, and numerous requests from the region over the years.

6. www.nt.gov.au DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES Objectives 1.Traditional owners endorsed fisheries network to assist Yolngu to become involved in the seafood industry. 2.Produce a 3 year strategic plan. 3.Develop a coordinated approach to education and training in seafood and small business skills. 4.Establish at least 3 Yolngu owned seafood businesses within 3 years. 5.Increase supply of fresh seafood in the region. 6.Better engagement of Yolngu in the management of aquatic resources.

Application to DEEWR under IEP to support positions in any Yolngu owned corporation. Applications to IBA and ABA if/as required.
