1 Duties Of Christians “To Each Other”
1 Pet 3:8-9

2 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous: Unity of mind, purpose, agreement in all major details of Christian life John 17:20-21 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;  21That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.

3 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” The early church is a living example of oneness of mind Acts 2:42-46 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.  43And fear came on every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.  44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;  45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.  46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

4 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Every book of the NT condemns division and pleads for unity either directly or indirectly Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: Mark 10:34-35 And they shall mock him, and shall whip him, and shall spit on him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.  35And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to him, saying, Master, we would that you should do for us whatever we shall desire. Luke 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.

5 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” John 17:20-21 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;  21That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me. Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

6 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brothers, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.  18For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

7 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Galatians 5:19-20 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

8 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Ephesians 4:1-4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation with which you are called,  2With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;  3Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;

9 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Philippians 2:2 Fulfill you my joy, that you be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Colossians 3:8 But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do you.  14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfection.

10 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 1 Thessalonians 5:13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. 1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

11 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 1 Timothy 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 2 Timothy 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

12 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Titus 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men. :9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Philemon 16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh, and in the Lord

13 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: James 4:1 From where come wars and fights among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 8-9 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.  9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

14 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: James 4:1 From where come wars and fights among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 5-9 Do you think that the scripture said in vain, The spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy?  6But he gives more grace. Why he said, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.  7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  8Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.  9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

15 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous: 2 Peter 3:14 Why, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.

16 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” 2 John 5 And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 3 John 9-10 I wrote to the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not.  10Why, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither does he himself receive the brothers, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the church.

17 “Be Ye All Of One Mind” The whole book of Jude condemns those who would cause division Revelation of John 2:3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my name's sake have labored, and have not fainted.

18 Having Compassion One Of Another “Be Sympathitic”
Compassion – sorrow or pity excited by the distress and misfortunes of another- Webster To have pity, a feeling of distress through the ills of others is used in God’s compassion Romans 9:18 Therefore has he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardens.

19 Having Compassion One Of Another “Be Sympatheitic”
To be moved as to one’s inwards. To be moved with compassion, to yearn with compassion is frequently recorded of Christ towards the multitudes and individuals Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. Matthew 18:27Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. Matthew 20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

20 Having Compassion One Of Another “Be Sympatheitic”
Compassion is that disposition which enables us to weep with those that weep and rejoice with those that rejoice Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 1 Corinthians 12:25-26 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.  26And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.

21 “Love As Brethern” Literally “ Brotherly Love”
It is the “special feeling” which Brothers of a common parentage have for each other Let love be without hypocrisy Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; hold to that which is good. Purified, So love 1 Peter 1:22-23 Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:  23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and stays for ever.

22 “Love As Brethern” Literally “ Brotherly Love”
Love one another because he loved us 1 John 4:7-11 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.  8He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.  9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

23 “Be Pitiful” “Tenderhearted”
Peter 3:8 Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous: It is a attitude which manifest itself in pity and compassion It is a characteristic which is a part of the new man Ephesians 4:32 And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

24 “Be Courteous” “Humble minded”
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous: The opposite of “Arrogance & Pride” Don’t think of yourself more highly than you ought to think Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

25 “Not Rendering Evil For Evil”
Means “not giving back” The Christian is not to give evil back in exchange for evil Christ reviled not again 1 Peter 2:21-22 For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:  22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

26 “Conclusion” The Christian disposition is so needed in a world that practices the very opposite Let each of us strive to have the right heart disposition toward each other
